Corrugated sheets, and what they are for

A sheet between each layer of a pallet spreads load across the stack instead of letting the top layer crush the one beneath it. The same sheet doubles as a reinforcing bottom inside a heavy carton, or as a divider when several items share one box.

It is one of the cheapest fixes in packaging: pennies of board against a damaged pallet of product. Most operations that start using layer pads never stop.

HOW TO USE IT

One sheet between each layer, and one on top before you wrap. If the load has sharp corners, add edge protection before strapping or wrapping.

Can these be cut down?

Yes — corrugated sheets cut cleanly with a utility knife, so one size can cover several jobs.

Single or double wall?

Single wall is fine as a layer pad. Use double wall where the sheet carries real weight, such as a reinforcing bottom under a heavy carton.
