Paper hot cups, and when they beat foam

A poly-coated paper cup is what customers expect from a coffee shop. It reads as premium, it takes print well, and it goes in the general waste stream in cities that restrict foam. It insulates less than foam, which is what the sleeve is for.

The 16 oz size takes the 12–20 oz white sip lid and the standard hot-cup sleeve. Single-wall paper is the value option; if you serve a lot of black coffee at full temperature, budget the sleeve into the cup cost rather than fielding burnt-hand complaints.

SERVICE TIP

Pre-sleeve a stack of cups before the morning rush. Sleeving at the machine is the step baristas skip when a line forms.

Which lid fits?

The white sip-through lid for 12–20 oz paper cups. All three of our paper hot cup sizes share it.

Can I use it for cold drinks?

Yes for short service, but the outside will sweat. For iced drinks a clear PET or translucent cold cup is the better cup.

Is it microwavable?

No. Poly-coated paper cups are for serving, not reheating.
